Job summary

SHI is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our MSP team, focusing on Windows Server environments, Microsoft infrastructure, and critical applications across multiple customer settings. The role emphasizes on-premises and cloud-hybrid administration, documentation, and cross-team collaboration.

The ideal candidate has solid Microsoft experience, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to work with customers and senior technical teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as Systems Engineer or similar in MSP/enterprise.
• Strong Windows Server, AD, DNS/DHCP, and Group Policy experience.
• Experience with Hyper-V/VMware virtualization and backup/recovery.
• Scripting and automation with PowerShell.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and on-call support.

Responsibilities

• Implement, administer, and support Windows Server environments across multiple MSP customers.
• Deploy, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot Microsoft infrastructure services (AD, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
• Support hybrid identity with Entra ID and synchronization technologies.
• Install and maintain server apps, middleware, and dependencies.
• Participate in server builds, upgrades, migrations, and data center modernization.
• Troubleshoot OS, authentication, app, and storage issues; escalate as needed.
• Apply security hardening and patching per standards.
• Create PowerShell scripts for admin tasks and reporting.
• Maintain build documents and knowledge articles; assist with operations transition.
• Collaborate with networking, security, cloud, database, and app teams.
