Job summary

SHI International Corp. is looking for a Systems Engineer to join our MSP team. You will implement, administer, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments across multiple customer sites, including AD, DNS, GPO, and identity solutions, with hybrid cloud integration.

The role emphasizes on-premises and cloud-based support, server builds, migrations, and disaster recovery, requiring strong documentation, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and a readiness for on-call incidents.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience as a Systems Engineer, Windows Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Administrator, or similar role within an MSP or enterprise environment.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server versions, installation, configuration, lifecycle management, patching, security, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory Domain Services, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, certificate services, trusts, replication, authentication, and identity-related troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting Microsoft server platforms and services such as IIS, Remote Desktop Services, Windows file services, failover clustering, and SQL Server infrastructure dependencies.
• Experience with Hyper-V and/or VMware virtualization, including VM lifecycle management, clustering, capacity, performance, and high-availability concepts.
• PowerShell skills for administration, data collection, and repeatable tasks.
• Familiarity with enterprise server hardware/storage platforms, including RAID, SAN/NAS, multipathing, and diagnostics.
• Experience with backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery processes for Windows workloads and applications.

Responsibilities

• Implement, administer, and support Windows Server environments for MSP customers using established standards and procedures.
• Deploy, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot Microsoft infrastructure services (AD DS, GPO, DNS, DHCP, cert services, file/print services).
• Support hybrid identity and access solutions integrating on-prem AD with Microsoft Entra ID and synchronization technologies.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft and third-party server applications, middleware, web services, and dependencies.
• Participate in server builds, platform upgrades, migrations, hardware refreshes, and data center modernization.
• Troubleshoot OS, authentication, application, virtualization, storage, backup, and performance issues; escalate as needed.
• Apply security hardening, patching, vulnerability remediation, and privileged-access controls.
• Implement highly available/ resilient solutions using clustering, load balancing, virtualization, backup, replication, and DR technologies.
• Create/maintain PowerShell scripts for administration, reporting, health checks, and repeatable operations.
• Develop build documents, support procedures, configuration records, and knowledge articles; assist in solution documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders; gather requirements and report progress and risk.
• Participate in on-call rotation and support critical incidents and problem management.
