Job summary

LoanCare is seeking a Mortgage Servicing Loan Counselor I to manage delinquent mortgage accounts, engage borrowers, and ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations. The role emphasizes strong communication, attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach to collections.

Responsibilities include contacting borrowers, negotiating plans, maintaining records, and collaborating with internal teams to minimize losses, while meeting regulatory requirements and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in mortgage servicing, collections, and/or call center environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with mortgage servicing platforms (MSP, Fiserv, etc.).
• Ability to work nights and weekends as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Contact borrowers by phone, email, and written correspondence to resolve delinquent accounts.
• Negotiate payment arrangements and loss mitigation options per policy and investor guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of borrower interactions and account status.
• Monitor portfolio to meet performance goals and minimize losses.
• Collaborate with Customer Service, Loss Mitigation, and Foreclosure teams for seamless servicing.
• Ensure compliance with FDCPA, TCPA, RESPA, CFPB and investor regulations.
