Job summary

Premera Blue Cross is seeking a Membership Specialist II to perform complex reconciliation, enrollment and billing support for Individual or Group accounts. This telecommuter role focuses on resolving issues, maintaining accurate notes, and coaching customers on contractual guidelines.

Responsibilities include identifying discrepancies, processing refunds and transfers, and using Access/Excel tools to verify eligibility and enrollment. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED (Required)
• Two years of accounting/finance/bookkeeping experience or an Associate’s degree in accounting/finance/bookkeeping (Required)
• Health or insurance industry experience (Preferred)
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Identify, resolve and document complex reconciliation discrepancies independently, processing refunds, transfers of premiums, reinstatements, and insufficient fund issues.
• Validate AR by detailed reconciliation and audit of group or individual premiums and membership.
• Use Excel/Access and system reports to update eligibility, enrollment and reconciliation of accounts.
• Meet or exceed department metrics: production and quality standards and follow policies.
• Prepare written correspondence on billing and enrollment issues.
