Premera Blue Cross is seeking a Membership Specialist II to perform complex reconciliation, enrollment, and billing tasks for Individual or Group accounts. This role supports financial risk management and customer satisfaction across time zones in a telecommuter setting.

The position emphasizes accuracy in accounts receivable, use of Excel/Access, and collaboration with internal/external partners to resolve billing issues.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED (Required).
• Two years accounting/finance/bookkeeping experience (Required).
• One year prior experience as Membership Analyst I or in a Premera position with reconciliation experience (Required).
• Health or insurance industry experience (Preferred).
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Identify, resolve and document complex reconciliation discrepancies independently.
• Process refunds, transfers of premiums, reinstatements, and insufficient fund issues.
• Maintain accurate notes and enrollments; update eligibility and enrollment changes.
• Educate members, brokers, or groups on membership and billing processes.
