Job summary

Premera Blue Cross is seeking a Membership Specialist II to perform moderate to complex reconciliation analysis and audit activities for Individual or Group accounts receivable. You will resolve enrollment, reconciliation, and billing issues with minimal supervision while coaching internal and external customers on contractual guidelines.

This role supports financial risk management and member satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of accounting/finance/bookkeeping experience.
• One year of experience as Membership Analyst I or in a Premera role with reconciliation experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify, resolve and document complex reconciliation discrepancies.
• Process refunds, transfers of premiums, reinstatements, and insufficient fund issues.
• Process new enrollment and/or eligibility changes as needed and maintain thorough notes.
• Validate accounts receivable through detailed reconciliation and audits.
• Use Access or Excel to update eligibility, enrollment and/or reconciliation.
• Meet or exceed department metrics for production and quality.
• Create written correspondence regarding billing and enrollment issues.
• Research and resolve complex account discrepancies and billing issues.
• Educate members, brokers, or groups on membership and billing processes.
• Respond to member/broker/internal inquiries in a timely manner.
