Job summary

Premera Blue Cross seeks a Membership Specialist II to perform moderate to complex reconciliation analysis and audit activities for Individual or Group accounts receivable, resolving enrollment, reconciliation and billing issues with minimal supervision. This role supports financial risk management and member satisfaction.

In this telecommuter role, you will work within Pacific/Mountain/Central Time Zones, handling enrollment changes, refunds, and contract interpretations while maintaining

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of accounting/finance/bookkeeping experience is required.
• One year of experience as Membership Analyst I or in a Premera role with reconciliation experience is required.
• Health or insurance industry experience is preferred.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify, resolve and document complex reconciliation discrepancies and process refunds and transfers.
• Validate accounts receivable by detailed reconciliation and audit of premiums and membership.
• Use tools and system reports (Access/Excel) to update eligibility, enrollment and reconciliation.
• Meet department metrics for production and quality while following policies.
• Create written correspondence regarding billing and enrollment issues.
• Educate members, brokers, or groups on membership and billing processes and portal usage.
