Job summary

Premera Blue Cross is hiring a Membership Specialist II to support enrollment, reconciliation, and billing for Individual or Group accounts. This telecommuter role spans Pacific, Mountain, and Central Time Zones, requiring strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities include resolving complex discrepancies, processing refunds and transfers, and educating members and brokers on membership processes and portal usage, with a focus on accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Two years of recent accounting/finance/bookkeeping experience or an Associate’s Degree in accounting/finance/bookkeeping.
• Experience in health insurance or related industry preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with detail orientation.

Responsibilities

• Identify, resolve and document complex reconciliation discrepancies; process refunds and transfers.
• Validate accounts receivable by detailed reconciliation of premiums and membership.
• Use Access or Excel to update eligibility, enrollment and reconciliation data.
• Meet department metrics for production and quality; maintain documentation and notes.
• Create written correspondence regarding billing and enrollment issues.
• Educate members, brokers, or groups on membership and billing processes and portal usage.
