Job summary

CVP seeks a Medical Support Assistant to join our team supporting the Sheridan VA Health Care System from a remote location. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Sheridan VA Medical Center and work Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM local time.

This role coordinates care with VA and community providers, schedules appointments, processes referrals, and ensures timely, compliant patient service. The position requires high school completion, US citizenship, and the ability to pass a typing test with 50

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• US Citizenship and Public Trust clearance eligibility is required.
• Must reside within 50 miles of the Sheridan VA Medical Center.
• Prior VA or federal healthcare administrative experience is preferred.
• Typing test to verify 50 wpm speed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate appointment scheduling and pre-/post-appointment contacts.
• Coordinate care with VA and community providers; ensure timely care.
• Process community care consults via HS RM and PPMS.
• Update patient demographics in CPRS and VistA; maintain data accuracy.
• Handle phone inquiries; respond within 5 rings and maintain etiquette.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant handling of sensitive information.
• Open/close clinics daily and update no-shows within 24 hours.
• Collaborate with scheduling team to ensure professional VA representation.
