Job summary

Inova Health is seeking a dedicated Medical Records Coder 2 to join the HB Coding Operations team. This full-time position offers daytime hours Monday to Friday with remote work eligibility for residents in VA, MD, DC and several other states.

Responsibilities include assigning E/M, CPT and ICD-10-CM codes from outpatient and ED records, meeting productivity standards, and performing additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and AHIMA-approved coding program.
• One year of recent coding experience in an acute hospital.
• RHIT, RHIA, CCS, COC, CPC or CPC-A certification completed upon start.

Responsibilities

• Meet coding productivity standards as established by Coding Operations Director and Coding Manager.
• Ensure the accurate and complete assignment of E/M, CPT, and ICD-10-CM codes from outpatient and Emergency Department encounters.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
