Job summary

Health Information Associates (HIA) is seeking a remote inpatient coder to apply ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG assignments with accuracy and in accordance with UHDDS guidelines. The coder will abstract key data from medical records, ensure regulatory compliance, and meet productivity standards.

The role requires RHIA/RHIT/CCS certification, inpatient coding experience in acute care, and proficiency with 3M and TruCode encoders.

Qualifications

• RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification required.
• Inpatient coding experience in acute care.
• Proficient in I-10-CM/PCS coding and encoder tools.

Responsibilities

• Codes inpatient records with ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG assignments.
• Abstracts and codes demographic and clinical data elements.
• Utilizes 3M and TruCode encoders for accurate DRG assignments.
• Writes non-leading queries and maintains productivity standards.
• Reports to the Director of Coding Services.
