Job summary

BayCare is seeking a Coder II to apply intermediate-level coding knowledge for accurate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT-4 assignments. You will review clinical documentation, monitor bill hold reports, and support quality initiatives while mentoring junior coders.

The role supports a fully remote work arrangement with eligibility to live in FL, GA, SC, or NC. This position emphasizes collaboration with Health Information Management Coding Services and adherence to coding accuracy and regulatory

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior coding experience required.
• Preferred: associate degree in health information technology or related field.
• CCS or RHIT credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with coding guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze clinical documentation to ensure coding completeness, accuracy, and appropriate reimbursement.
• Monitor and resolve coding-related bill hold issues.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards established by the department.
• Support coding education efforts by assisting with training and mentoring Coder II teammates and coding students.
• Collaborate with leadership and colleagues to promote coding consistency and best practices.
• Stay current on coding regulations, payer guidelines, and industry updates.
