Job summary

Raintree Systems, Inc. is seeking a Payment Reconciliation Specialist for a fully remote role within designated U.S. states, including MA.

You will ensure deposits are received, posted accurately, and reconciled across daily, weekly, and monthly cycles, with emphasis on timeliness and precision. Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of medical insurance posting experience, knowledge of payer rules, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and billing software.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of medical insurance posting experience.
• Knowledge of payer contract & government reimbursement rules.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Google applications.
• Skilled in using computer applications for payment posting with an understanding of A/R follow up.
• Knowledge of insurance and reimbursement policies.
• Experience with medical billing software (Raintree Systems a plus).
• Experience in basic accounting and math skills.
• Proactive curiosity and basic AI fluency to identify efficiency gains.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain logs/spreadsheets used for reconciliation and post deposits accurately.
• Investigate and resolve outstanding deposits, contacting payers/clients as needed.
• Identify information to clear posting errors and follow ups.
• Participate in month-end closing.
• Retrieve and post remittances from payor websites when needed.
• Research unidentified payments and recoupment to determine resolutions.
• Identify patterns indicating issues and notify leads.
• Assist clients by answering inquiries and providing information.
• Reconcile daily cash deposits to billing system and bank.
• Undertake special projects as assigned.
