Job summary

Raintree Systems is seeking a Payment Reconciliation Specialist to ensure timely posting and reconciliation of deposits, with a strong focus on accuracy. This remote, U.S.-based role supports multiple states and emphasizes attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include posting, research, month-end close participation, and client communications. Knowledge of payer contracts and government rules is essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and medical billing

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of medical insurance posting experience.
• Knowledge of payer contract & government reimbursement rules.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Google applications.
• Skilled in using computer applications for payment posting with an understanding of A/R follow up.
• Knowledge of insurance and reimbursement policies.
• Experience with medical billing software (Raintree Systems experience a plus).
• Experience in performing tasks that require a basic understanding of accounting and math skills.
• Proactive curiosity and basic AI fluency to identify efficiency gains and streamline daily workflows in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain logs/spreadsheets for reconciliation and post deposits accurately.
• Investigate and resolve outstanding deposits by contacting clients/payors.
• Identify information needed to clear posting errors and follow ups.
• Participate in month-end closing.
• Retrieve and post remittances from payor websites as needed.
• Research unidentified payments to determine resolutions.
• Identify patterns indicating issues and notify leads or supervisors.
• Assist clients by answering inquiries and providing information.
• Reconcile daily cash deposits to billing system and bank.
• Handle special projects as assigned.
