Job summary

The American Red Cross seeks a top-tier TCS Medical Officer to lead clinical oversight of therapeutic apheresis and cellular therapies. The role blends strategic medical leadership with regulatory excellence and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with Board Certification in Transfusion Medicine or Hematology/Oncology.
• Preference for 5+ years experience in Cell Therapy/HSCT, negotiable.
• Experience with FACT accreditation processes and AABB Standards for cellular therapy.
• Knowledge of FDA regulations governing HCT/Ps.
• Demonstrate leadership in program development and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to lead strategic growth and cross-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Direct medical strategy and operations for regulated cellular therapies (HPCs, CAR-T, Leukopaks).
• Partner with executive leadership to expand collection footprints and optimize material production.
• Contribute to expansion of cellular services through outreach, new programs, and sales support.
• Serve as medical liaison for biotech partners on donor eligibility, product specs, and trials.
• Provide medical oversight for transferring protocols from research to production.
• Lead medical guidance on donor/recipient issues and regulatory compliance.
