Job summary

The American Red Cross seeks a senior medical leader to oversee Therapeutic and Cellular Solutions (TCS) and regional medical activities. You will guide clinical strategy, regulatory compliance, and program development across cellular therapies, working with internal teams and biotech partners.

This role combines medical office leadership with regional clinical oversight, emphasizing donor safety, regulatory excellence, and innovative transfusion medicine practices.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with Board Certification in transfusion medicine or hematology/oncology is required.
• Proven leadership in expanding clinical programs and driving innovation desired.
• Experience with FACT/AABB accreditation processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical oversight for regulatory cellular therapy programs including policy development for cell collection, storage and infusion.
• Lead medical strategy and operations for regulated cellular therapies (HPCs, CAR-T, Leukopaks).
• Serve as medical liaison to biotech partners, donors, and hospital leadership on clinical standards and regulatory compliance.
• Deliver continuing medical education and ensure compliance with FACT, CLIA, FDA standards.
