Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Therapeutic and Cellular Solutions (TCS) Medical Director to guide clinical strategy for cellular therapies and regulatory compliance. This 100% remote role collaborates with leadership and biotech partners to enable program growth, regulatory excellence, and innovation in transfusion medicine.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with Board Certification in Transfusion Medicine or Hematology/Oncology.
• Experience with FACT accreditation processes and AABB standards for cellular therapy.
• Knowledge of FDA regulations governing human cells, tissues, and cellular products.

Responsibilities

• Direct medical strategy and operations for regulated cellular therapies (HPCs, CAR-T, Leukopaks).
• Provide medical oversight for donor management, product investigations, and transfusion practices.
• Oversee medical aspects of regulated blood center operations and CLIA laboratory duties as applicable.
• Deliver continuing medical education to internal/external audiences on safe use of blood components.
