Job summary

SCAN is seeking a Medical Management support professional to assist the department with data entry, authorization processing, and provider communications. The role focuses on ensuring timely, accurate information within the CCMS system and adherence to eligibility and benefit guidelines.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in managed care, strong data entry skills, ICD-9/CPT knowledge, and proficiency in MS Office. Remote work is available with a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of medical experience in a managed care environment is preferred.
• Proficiency with data entry.
• ICD-9, CPT coding experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
• Utilization Management experience is required.
• Excellent communication skills; primarily telephonic required.
• Working knowledge of Medicare and Medi-Cal guidelines preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.
• Ability to multitask and work with limited supervision.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Ability to provide professional customer service.
• Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Enter data into the case management system (CCMS) and authorize services under clinical direction.
• Triages events per department guidelines and processes inpatient/outpatient claims data entry.
• Verify member data by researching eligibility, benefits, and network provider status.
• Maintain telephone standards by answering calls within established times.
• Support providers and ensure services fit within the benefit plan and contracts.
• Develop collaborative relationships with network providers and internal teams.
• Maintain privacy and protect confidentiality of member information.
• Communicate effectively with members and caregivers with courtesy and respect.
• Adhere to quality, compliance, and regulatory standards to achieve outcomes.
• Support SCAN's AI-driven initiatives and goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
