Job summary

The American Red Cross seeks an MD/DO with board certification in Transfusion Medicine or Hematology/Oncology to lead cellular therapies and clinical programs. This is a 100% remote role serving teams across the Eastern Time zone, with periodic onsite travel as needed.

You will drive medical strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with leadership to expand services, while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with Board Certification in Transfusion Medicine or Hematology/Oncology.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in cell therapy and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (negotiable).
• Knowledge of FACT accreditation and AABB standards; familiarity with FDA HCT/P rules.
• Proven leadership in program development and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical leadership for cellular therapies and transfusion medicine programs.
• Oversee regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and policy development.
• Serve as medical liaison to hospital clients, biotech partners and leadership.
• Lead clinical trials oversight or translational research efforts where applicable.
• Support program growth, partnerships, and education across teams.
