The American Red Cross seeks an experienced Medical Director to lead the Therapeutic and Cellular Solutions (TCS) programs. This role provides clinical oversight for cellular therapies and partners with executives to expand services and ensure regulatory excellence.

Ideal candidates hold an MD/DO with Board Certification in Transfusion Medicine or Hematology/Oncology, with 5+ years in cell therapy and familiarity with FACT, AABB, and FDA regulations. Remote US role with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with Board Certification in Transfusion Medicine or Hematology/Oncology.
• 5+ years’ experience in Cell Therapy and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation.
• Familiarity with FACT accreditation processes and AABB Standards for cellular therapy.
• Knowledge of FDA regulations governing HCT/Ps.
• Proven leadership in program development with regulatory accreditation.
• Ability to lead strategic growth and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsabilités

• Direct medical strategy and operations for regulated cellular therapies (HPCs, CAR-T, Leukopaks).
• Partner with executive leadership to expand collection footprints and optimize production.
• Contribute to expansion of cellular services through outreach, partnerships, and new programs.
• Serve as medical liaison for biotech partners on donor eligibility, product specs, and trials.
• Provide medical consultation in transfusion medicine and donor management.
• Oversee CLIA laboratory director duties regionally where applicable.
• Deliver continuing medical education to internal and external audiences.
