Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a TCS Medical Director to lead medical oversight and strategy for regulated cellular therapies. You will collaborate with executive leadership to enable program development, ensure regulatory compliance, and elevate organizational knowledge in cellular therapies and transfusion medicine.

This 100% remote leadership role supports teams across the Eastern Time Zone and involves travel as needed to support business objectives and partnerships.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with Board Certification in Transfusion Medicine or Hematology/Oncology.
• 5+ years’ experience in Cell Therapy and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation.
• Experience with FACT accreditation processes and AABB Standards.
• Knowledge of FDA regulations governing HCT/Ps.
• Demonstrated leadership in program development with regulatory compliance.
• Ability to lead strategic growth and cross-disciplinary teams.
• Experience with investigator-initiated clinical trials is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct medical strategy and operations for regulated cellular therapies.
• Expand collection footprints and optimize production of cellular products.
• Contribute to growth through outreach, partnerships, and new programs.
• Serve as medical liaison for biotech partners on donor eligibility and trial alignment.
• Provide medical oversight for transferring protocols from research to production.
• Oversee medical aspects of donor management, adverse reactions, and investigations.
• Deliver continuing medical education to internal and external audiences.
