Job summary

American Red Cross seeks a MD/DO with board certification in Transfusion Medicine or Hematology/Oncology to lead medical oversight for Therapeutic and Cellular Solutions (TCS) and regional transfusion medicine operations. The role encompasses policy development, regulatory compliance, and partnering with leadership to grow cellular therapy programs.

You will oversee donor eligibility, product specifications, and clinical trial alignment while ensuring CLIA/regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with Board Certification in Transfusion Medicine or Hematology/Oncology.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Cell Therapy and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT).
• Experience with FACT accreditation processes and AABB Standards for cellular therapy.
• Knowledge of FDA regulations governing HCT/Ps.
• Leadership in program development and regulatory readiness.

Responsibilities

• Direct medical strategy and operations for regulated cellular therapies (HPCs, CAR-T, Leukopaks).
• Partner with executive leadership to expand collection footprints and optimize production of cellular products.
• Contribute to expansion of cellular services through outreach and new program development.
