Job summary

American Red Cross seeks a TCS Medical Officer to lead clinical oversight for Therapeutic Apheresis and Cellular Therapeutics programs, serving as primary consultant to internal teams and external partners.

You will advance program development, ensure compliance with FACT, CLIA, and FDA standards, and support growth through strategic medical leadership in transfusion medicine and cellular therapeutics. Remote with some travel.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with Board Certification in Transfusion Medicine or Hematology/Oncology.
• Preference for 5+ years experience in Cell Therapy and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation.
• Proven experience with FACT accreditation processes and AABB Standards for cellular therapy.
• Knowledge of FDA regulations governing HCT/Ps.

Responsibilities

• Direct medical strategy and operations for regulated cellular therapies.
• Partner with leadership to expand collection footprints and optimize product materials.
• Serve as medical liaison for biotech partners and donor eligibility guidance.
• Provide medical oversight for transfer of protocols from research to clinical production.
• Deliver medical education to internal and external audiences.
