Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking an experienced Medical Director to lead medical office engagement for Therapeutic Apheresis and Cellular Therapeutics (TCS). You will oversee clinical strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, and act as the medical liaison for internal teams, external partners, and committees.

The role requires collaboration with TCS leadership to expand programs and elevate standards. This remote position demands occasional onsite presence and travel to support business needs,

Qualifications

• MD/DO with Board Certification in Transfusion Medicine or Hematology/Oncology.
• Preference for 5+ years’ experience in Cell Therapy and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation, negotiable.
• Experience with FACT accreditation processes and AABB Standards for cellular therapy.

Responsibilities

• Direct medical strategy and operations for regulated cellular therapies (HPCs, CAR-T, Leukopaks).
• Provide medical oversight and serve as primary medical liaison for biotech partners and committees.
• Lead regulatory and program development efforts to maintain FACT, CLIA, and FDA standards.
