American Red Cross is seeking a Therapeutic and Cellular Solutions Medical Director to lead medical oversight of cellular therapies and to drive program development in transfusion medicine.

Role includes strategic growth, regulatory coordination (FACT, CLIA, FDA), and collaboration with executive teams. Remote work pattern with periodic onsite travel in EST timelines is expected for collaboration and leadership across national programs.

Qualifikationen

• MD/DO with Board Certification in Transfusion Medicine or Hematology/Oncology.
• Minimum 5 years in Cell Therapy and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation preferred.
• Knowledge of FDA regulations governing human cells, tissues, and cellular and tissue-based products (HCT/Ps).
• Experience with FACT accreditation processes and AABB Standards for cellular therapy.

Aufgaben

• Direct medical strategy and operations for regulated cellular therapies (HPCs, CAR-T) including policy development.
• Partner with executive leadership to expand collection footprints and optimize production of cellular products.
• Contribute to development of new programs and support sales teams as needed.
• Represent medical office at committees; liaison for biotech partners on donor eligibility and clinical trial alignment.
• Oversee transfer of client-specific protocols from research to clinical-grade production.
