Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to assist physicians, healthcare professionals, field staff, and patients with remote patient monitoring and medical devices. You will diagnose issues, guide users through complex workflows, and coordinate with internal teams to resolve problems.

The role requires strong communication, multitasking, and attention to detail, with experience in healthcare tech and data transmission.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Customer service, product support, IT, telecommunications, or related experience preferred.
• Medical device technical support experience preferred.
• Experience in a matrixed, cross-division environment preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Answer technical and informational inquiries and complaints from physicians, healthcare professionals, field staff, and patients.
• Respond to remote patient monitoring inquiries accurately, promptly, and effectively.
• Provide basic clinical and technical support between patients, the remote care medical community, and internal departments.
• Triage calls and forward them to other personnel when appropriate.
• Troubleshoot website navigation, patient monitor setup, product information, and remote care products.
• Guide patients by telephone through manual transmission of data from ICD or pacemaker devices.
• Assist with failed automatic transmissions and equipment connection issues.
• Direct patients through transmitter installation and setup and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
• Document patient system complaints in Field Contact Reports and forward them to Product Reporting.
• Document transmitter/receiver technical issues, anomalies, and engineering improvements in Software Work Requests.
• Guide customers through the Merlin.net website and handle physician and clinician password reset requests.
• Provide alternative data transmission options during server or IT outages.
• Refer implantable device issues to Technical Services.
• Identify causes of problems and facilitate resolution to prevent recurrence.
• Complete required training and certifications.
