Job summary

Tegria is seeking a Supervisory Coding professional to oversee a team of medical coders delivering outsourced coding services to healthcare facilities. The role focuses on accurate and timely coding, regulatory compliance, and streamlined workflows while supporting remote work environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• CPC/CCA/CCS/CIC or COC certification required.
• 7+ years medical coding experience.
• Degree or experience in medical records, claims, or billing is a plus.
• Previous medical office experience preferred.
• MEDITECH experience preferred.
• Able to work with minimal supervision and show independent judgment.
• Ability to mentor less experienced staff.
• Extensive knowledge of coding, abstracting and related regulations.
• Experience with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of medical coders; provide guidance, support and training.
• Review and audit coded data for accuracy and regulatory compliance (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
• Ensure accurate coding for diagnoses, procedures and services.
• Maintain HIPAA, CMS and payer-specific regulatory compliance.
• Provide ongoing training on coding updates and best practices.
• Track coder performance and provide coaching and corrective actions.
