Harris is seeking an Emergency Medicine Coding Team Lead to manage a team of medical coders, focusing on accurate ICD-10 and CPT coding of medical records. The role acts as a liaison for complex issues, conducts audits, and drives quality while staying compliant with CMS and HIPAA.

The position emphasizes training, mentorship, performance monitoring, and collaboration with providers, billing, and compliance to improve documentation and efficiency in a remote USA-based setting.

Qualifications

• Several years of medical coding experience (3-5+ years).
• Supervisory or lead experience in coding.
• CPC, CCS, RHIT or equivalent certifications.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS and regulatory guidelines (CMS, HIPAA).
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop the coding team; assign workloads and review performance.
• Conduct audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers.
• Provide training and mentorship to onboarded staff and ongoing education.
• Serve as escalation point for complex coding questions and discrepancies.
• Collaborate with providers, billing, and compliance to resolve documentation issues.
• Identify denials trends, drive process improvements, and monitor KPIs.
