Job summary

Sprinter Health is seeking a Coding Manager to lead a remote coding team across in-home and virtual services. You will own coding operations, quality, and audit programs, partnering with clinical, operations, product, and revenue stakeholders.

You will build a high-performing, learning-oriented function that supports clean claims, risk adjustment, and quality reporting, contributing to expanded preventive and chronic care access.

Qualifications

• Active coding certifications (AAPC or AHIMA)
• 5+ years professional coding experience, 2+ in a leadership role
• Strong pro-fee coding across preventive/primary/diagnostics/virtual care
• Deep knowledge ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers, payer guidelines
• Experience designing and delivering coding education (trainings, guides)
• Familiarity with HCC/risk adjustment coding for value-based care
• Experience presenting to clients, developing reports and insights
• Proficiency with EHR systems and coding tools; Elation and Google Workspace a plus
• Excellent communication and coaching; ability to manage a remote team

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support a remote team of medical coders and auditors.
• Oversee day-to-day coding operations, queues, workload balance, turnaround time.
• Serve as escalation point for coding questions and audit findings.
• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and payer guidelines.
• Develop and socialize coding policies, playbooks, and job aids.
• Design and own a comprehensive coding education program (onboarding, milestones).
• Deliver ongoing training on updates, payer changes, and Sprinter workflows.
• Create a centralized library of training materials (guides, FAQs, videos).
• Provide coaching based on performance data and audit trends; support certifications.
• Foster learning culture, confidentiality, and HIPAA/compliance adherence.
