Job summary

Sprinter Health is seeking a Medical Coding Auditor to perform routine and focused audits of medical coding to ensure CMS, payer, and organizational standards are met. The role focuses on education for coders and providers to improve documentation and coding accuracy, in a fully remote setting.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of coding experience with audit exposure, strong knowledge of CPT/ICD-10-CM/HCPCS, and the ability to work independently to support audit prep and reporting.

Qualifications

• Active AAPC CPC or AHIMA CCS certification required.
• 3+ years of medical coding experience, including 1–2 years in coding audits, QA, or compliance.
• Strong understanding of HCC/risk adjustment coding principles and CDI practices.
• Proficiency with CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and modifiers.

Responsibilities

• Audit medical coding to ensure CMS, payer, and organizational standards.
• Develop and deliver education to coders and providers to improve documentation and coding accuracy.
• Assist with internal and external audit preparation and responses, including documentation requests.
• Maintain audit tracking logs, productivity reports, and accuracy metrics.
