Job summary

University Medical Billing ( UMB ) is a fully remote department that provides premier coding services for the University of Utah School of Medicine. The Medical Coding Manager will oversee coding operations, train staff, and implement policies, while conducting audits and improving processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) plus 6 years related work experience, or Master’s plus 4 years.
• APAC AHIMA or AAPC certification preferred.
• Experience leading remote teams in medical coding and billing.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage medical coding operations for accurate, compliant coding.
• Oversee and train coding staff; design and document coding policies.
• Conduct audits and drive improvements; hire, fire and evaluate staff.
