University Medical Billing (UMB) is a fully remote department in the University of Utah School of Medicine, serving over 1,800 providers and 30 specialties. The Medical Coding Manager will lead coding operations, train staff, and design policies, driving audits and improvements in a first-level management role.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with extensive related experience, certification preferred, and a focus on HIPAA-compliant, remote work with standard office

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 6 years of directly related work experience.
• AAPC or AHIMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Executes Strategy: implement coding and charge capture strategies aligned to goals.
• Oversees Team: ensure team satisfaction and monitor performance.
• Customer Needs & Satisfaction: support customer satisfaction and maintain coding accuracy above 92%.
