As the Medical Coding Manager, you will manage medical coding operations to ensure accurate and compliant coding of medical records for an organization that provides healthcare patient services; oversee and train coding staff; design, implement, and document coding policies and processes; conduct audits and evaluate operations to identify opportunities for improvements. This is a first-level manager role: manages the activities of supervisors and/or individual contributors; responsible for hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and pay reviews; broad knowledge of the field with demonstrated leadership skills.
Employment is contingent on the successful completion of a background check and the adherence to departmental policies, including UMB’s Telecommuting Agreement which requires a distraction-free and HIPAA compliant workplace, cameras on for all virtual calls/meetings, and the ability to work during office hours or assigned shift (M-F, approximately 8am to 5pm Mountain Time) regardless of what time zone you live in.
