Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No experience required.
• CCS, RHIT, RHIA, CPC, CCA, CPC-A, CCS-P, or eligibility to sit for a credential exam.
• If hired while exam-eligible, the credential must be obtained within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and abstract designated statistical and clinical data into Epic and/or Fastrack.
• Assign ICD-10-CM and/or CPT codes accurately and ethically using 3M encoding software and coding manuals.
• Meet established productivity standards and submit coding activity logs on time.
• Manage deadlines and support departmental bill-hold and accounts receivable goals.
• Maintain coding knowledge and complete continuing education to maintain credentials.
