Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a Remote Medical Coder to support accurate coding and timely billing across hospital-based ancillary services. You will review medical records, assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes, and help meet quality and productivity standards.

While this is a remote opportunity, you must be able to train onsite for a minimum of 6 months. No minimum experience is required, and credential exam eligibility is acceptable with a six-month credential deadline.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No experience required.
• Credential exam eligibility (CCS, RHIT, RHIA, CPC, CCA, CPC-A, CCS-P) or eligibility to sit for a credential exam with credential to be obtained within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and abstract designated statistical and clinical data into Epic and/or Fastrack.
• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes accurately and ethically using 3M encoding software and coding manuals.
• Meet established productivity standards and submit coding activity logs on time.
• Manage deadlines and support departmental bill-hold and accounts receivable goals.
• Maintain coding knowledge and complete continuing education to maintain credentials.
