Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a remote Medical Coder for Coding Services with the ability to attend onsite training for the first 3-6 months. The role involves reviewing medical records, abstracting data into Epic and/or Fastrack, and assigning ICD-10-CM and CPT codes accurately to support timely billing.

Applicants should have 2+ years of coding experience, relevant certifications (CCS, RHIT, RHIA, CPC, CPC-A, CCS-P), and stay current with CMS and Ohio coding guidance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of work experience.
• Certification or credential as CCS, RHIT, RHIA, CPC, CPC-A, or CCS-P.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and abstract clinical data into Epic and/or Fastrack.
• Assign ICD-10-CM and/or CPT codes accurately and ethically using approved coding resources.
• Review encounters requiring documentation or clarification to support timely billing.
• Meet established productivity, deadline, bill-hold, and accounts receivable goals.
• Maintain current knowledge of CMS, State of Ohio, and official coding guidance.
• Identify coding process improvement opportunities and communicate ideas to management.
