Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Medical Coder to perform procedure and diagnostic coding for professional charges. This remote, nationwide role involves coding using CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10, collaborating with physicians and staff to ensure accurate, compliant coding and revenue optimization.

Typical schedule is full-time with training; hours will be 8 hours Monday-Friday between 6am-6pm EST. You will transmit claims, resolve coding inquiries, stay current with payor rules, and maintain

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPC, CCS-P, or CPC-A certification required.
• 2+ years physician-based coding experience.
• Preferred ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding experience.
• EPIC experience and MS Office proficiency a plus.

Responsibilities

• Code medical records using CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 for various care settings.
• Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software.
• Contact providers regarding coding issues and discrepancies.
• Ensure codes are accurate and compliant with government and payer rules.
• Maintain productivity and support audits as required.
