Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Optum unit is seeking a Medical Coder to accurately code CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 for professional charges, collaborating with physicians to maximize compliant revenue. This remote, full-time role involves 40 hours weekly with telecommuting options across the U.S.

You will work to ensure coding accuracy, productivity, and adherence to payer rules while using billing software to transmit claims and address coding inquiries.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years physician-based coding experience required.
• CPC/CCS-P or CPC-A certification required.

Responsibilities

• Codes medical records using CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 for various charges.
• Prepares, reviews and transmits electronic and paper claims.
• Responds to coding inquiries from providers and staff and ensures compliance with regulations.
• Maintains productivity and quality standards in Revenue Operations.
