Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Medical Coder to perform professional coding for a variety of services. You will work closely with physicians and staff to ensure accurate, compliant coding and maximize revenue through efficient initial coding.

Responsibilities include coding CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, and preparing claims using billing software. Telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. is supported after training, with adherence to productivity and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED and recognized coding certifications such as CPC, CCS-P, or CPC-A.
• Minimum 2+ years of physician-based coding experience.
• ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS knowledge preferred and EPIC experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Code medical records using CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 for various settings.
• Prepare, review, and transmit claims electronically or on paper.
• Communicate with providers to clarify coding and ensure compliance.
