Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a Remote IP Facility CCS coder to code inpatient and/or outpatient records for PMG specialty providers, supporting reimbursement and compliance. Responsibilities include reviewing full medical records, assigning CPT/ICD/MS-DRG codes, researching records across systems, and maintaining accuracy above 95%.

A valid coding credential and 1–3 years’ experience are required; remote NM position with varied shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED; coding certs (HCS-D/CCS/CCS-P/CPC-H/CPC or RHIT/RHIA) within 1 year.
• 1–3 years experience as a coder.
• Word, Excel, PowerPoint proficiency.
• Encoder experience and EMR familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient medical records and assigns CPT/ICD/MS-DRG codes for reimbursement.
• Abstracts data for QA and Joint Commission purposes.
• Researches records across systems to code timely; handles accounts receivable and queries.
• Resolves pre-bill edits/denials for assigned accounts.
• Keeps up-to-date on ICD-9/10 CM, CPT-4, HCPCS and DRG/updates.
• Participates in in-services and coding guideline updates.
• Communicates issues to Coding Manager & Supervisor.
• Demonstrates knowledge of coding multiple service areas.
• Maintains 95% accuracy and meets productivity standards.
• Completes CE requirements per policy.
