Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Professional coder certification (AHIMA or AAPC) required and maintained annually.
• 2+ years of experience with Windows PCs including MS Excel and EMR systems.
• 2+ years of ICD-10 and CPT coding experience focused on Primary Care and Family Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Assigns accurate diagnostic and procedure codes according to clinical documentation and official coding guidelines for Primary Care and Family Med
• Assigns CPT and ICD-10 codes to all services
• Monitors assigned work queues to ensure records are charged/coded timely
• Generates coding queries for clarification regarding physician documentation as needed
• Stays abreast of coding conventions and updates
• Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• All other duties as assigned

Education
