Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Certification in medical coding (AAPC/AHIMA) preferred.
• 1+ years coding experience.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, modifiers and HCPCS.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy/physiology.
• Must meet deadlines and productivity standards.

Responsibilities

• Apply coding knowledge to assign CPT, E/M, and diagnosis codes.
• Review clinical documentation to identify applicable codes.
• Generate queries when documentation is unclear.
• Resolve coding edits or denials.
• Support quality audits and educate team members.
