Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Professional coder certification with AHIMA and/or AAPC credentials (CPC/COC/CPC-P/CCS) maintained annually.
• Experience with ICD-10 and CPT coding in Primary Care/Family Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Assigns accurate diagnostic and procedure codes per clinical documentation and coding guidelines.
• Assigns CPT and ICD-10 codes to services.
• Monitors work queues to ensure timely charging/coding of records.
• Generates coding queries for documentation clarification as needed.
• Stay updated on coding changes and updates.
