Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a fully remote Medical Coder in the United States. The ideal candidate holds CPC certification and 1–3 years of medical coding experience. You must be able to work in the EST time zone and have your own laptop.

This contract position focuses on reviewing codes for payment and ensuring accuracy. Work involves examining provider and payer submissions, determining correct codes, and passing cases to QA.

Qualifications

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is required.
• 1–3 years of medical coding experience required.
• Must be able to work in the EST time zone.
• Must have your own laptop/computer.
• Experience with emergency services/inpatient/DRG coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review provider and payer submissions to determine correct codes for payment.
• Assess code accuracy and make determinations on appropriate codes and payment.
• Pass cases to QA for review after coding decisions are made.
