Job summary

Vantage Data Centers is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Lead to act as a strategic technical authority for mechanical discipline across North America. You will guide SMEs, set engineering standards, and mentor teams to deliver hyperscale data centers that meet reliability, efficiency, and sustainability goals.

You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, support operations, and participate in critical decision making. Travel up to 15–25% is anticipated as the business evolves.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• US-based Professional Engineer (PE) license with 10–15+ years of experience in mechanical design and construction.
• Data Center/mission critical experience is required.
• Strong understanding of design, construction, commissioning, and operations processes for North American development projects.
• Travel required up to 15–25% but may increase over time as the business evolves.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office. Understanding of AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Navisworks and CFD modeling software environments.
• Well versed with all building codes and ordinances, including ASHRAE.

Responsibilities

• Guide the mechanical engineering discipline within North America to ensure industry‑leading data centers.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external consultants on design standards and execution.
• Mentor SMEs and drive the adoption of best practices and innovations.
• Support operational facilities and participate in forensic analysis for failures.
