Job summary

NuScale Power, LLC is seeking a thermal-hydraulic engineer to perform analyses of NSSS systems within the NuScale Power Plant. You will apply thermal-hydraulic fundamentals and use tools like RELAP, ANSYS, and GOTHIC to support design advancement.

Collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams and strong written/oral communication are essential. The role emphasizes transient analyses, problem solving, and the ability to adapt in a rapidly evolving environment.

Qualifications

  • A BS in Engineering (Mechanical preferred); EIT preferred.
  • 2+ years of full-time engineering experience as a thermal-hydraulic engineer.
  • Experience analyzing system performance and transient operations (water hammer, high energy line break, steam generator heat transfer).
  • Experience with RELAP, ANSYS (Mechanical/CFD), GOTHIC; programming in Python or MATLAB.

Responsibilities

  • Use thermal-hydraulic software to analyze NSSS designs.
  • Perform and check engineering evaluations per NuScale procedures; apply fundamentals in hydraulics and mechanics.
  • Prepare, check, review calculations and reports on flow-induced vibration.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines for design problem resolution; multi-disciplinary exposure.
  • Demonstrate strong written and oral communication; perform other duties as assigned.
