Job summary

NuScale Power, LLC is seeking a Thermal-Hydraulic Engineer to perform analyses of NSSS system designs using RELAP, ANSYS and GOTHIC. The role involves transient analyses, verification of evaluations, and coordination with multi-disciplinary teams. Strong written and oral communication skills are required.

Minimum 2 years of experience in thermal-hydraulic engineering; a B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) and EIT is desirable. Travel for business purposes is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: A minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical) is required. A registered Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of full time engineering experience as a thermal-hydraulic engineer is required.
• Software: RELAP, ANSYS (Mechanical and CFD), GOTHIC, plus normal office software.
• Analysis: Experience with flow-induced vibration and transient analyses.
• Programming: Computer programming skills (e.g. Python, Matlab).

Responsibilities

• Uses thermal-hydraulic software and engineering tools to perform analyses on the design and performance of NSSS systems.
• Perform and check engineering evaluations in accordance with NuScale procedures, applying thermal hydraulics and structural mechanics fundamentals.
• Prepare, check, and review calculations and reports.
• Interacts with co-workers and other disciplines to coordinate design activities.
