Job summary

NuScale Power, LLC is seeking a Thermal‑Hydraulics Engineer 3 within the Nuclear Methods group. The engineer collaborates with the Thermal Hydraulics, Nuclear Design, and Code Development teams to advance nuclear thermal-hydraulic analyses, coupled codes, and reload safety analysis.

Requirements include a B.S. in Nuclear, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience, with emphasis on subchannel TH, transient analyses, and safety analysis.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a B.S. in Nuclear, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• At least 5 years of full-time, directly relevant engineering experience.
• Experience in subchannel thermal-hydraulics, transient analysis, and related safety analysis; neutronics or fuel performance preferred.
• Eligible to work under DOE 10 CFR Part 810.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development and validation of next-generation multi-physics methods integrating subchannel TH, system TH, and neutronics.
• Support method qualification with benchmark selection, acceptance criteria, and data comparisons; develop QA documentation.
• Prepare and verify subchannel analyses, including steady-state and transient margin evaluations and CHF predictions.
• Prepare and verify coupled TH evaluations (LOCA, transients) using industry-standard tools.
• Collaborate across Nuclear Fuels to manage interfaces with core/fuel design and multi-physics analyses.
• Develop licensing reports, topicals, and participate in regulatory interactions with the government regulator.
