Ensono is seeking a skilled Mainframe Engineer to design, develop, and maintain critical mainframe applications. The role emphasizes COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSAM expertise, with experience across SDLC and agile environments.

You will troubleshoot complex systems, support incidents, and guide junior team members in a remote United States setting. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of mainframe experience, strong analytical skills, and solid communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Extensive experience in mainframe development, support and maintenance.
• Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM with SDLC knowledge and version control.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
• US Citizen

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and resolution for complex applications and integrations.
• Support incidents, service requests, and changes; work in waterfall and agile projects.
• Tune performance and optimize mainframe queries and applications.
• Produce technical documentation for business and support teams.
• Mentor junior teammates and translate business needs into technical options.
