Job summary

Ensono is seeking a Mainframe Engineer to design, develop, and maintain mainframe apps using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2 and VSAM. The role is remote within the United States and requires 3–5 years of specialized experience and US citizenship.

You will guide junior team members, manage incidents, service requests and changes, and contribute to performance tuning and documentation. The compensation ranges from $97,000 to $115,000 annually, plus bonus and equity eligibility, with a comprehensive

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/IT or related field.
Extensive mainframe development, support and maintenance experience.
Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2 and VSAM; SDLC knowledge; version control experience.
Strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
US Citizen.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe apps with COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2 and VSAM.
Handle incidents, service requests and change requests within waterfall and agile projects.
Provide technical troubleshooting and resolution for complex applications and integration.
Perform performance tuning and optimization of mainframe software and queries.
Create technical documentation for knowledge bases and SOPs.
